In conjunction with the Great American Clean-Up, the Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce Environmental Committee announces the annual community clean-up dates.
The Community Clean-Up will take place at the Carter County Landfill on Friday and Saturday, April 20-21. Citizens can bring household waste to the landfill at no charge. Four dumps per household will be permitted. No commercial dumping or dump trucks will be accepted. There is a limit of eight tires per household. A driver’s license or ID must be presented at time of dump. No brush or yard waste (leaves, branches or other debris) will be accepted. Hours on Friday, April 20, are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, April 21, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Elderly and disabled citizens can schedule a pickup by contacting the Chamber of Commerce.
