The market opens one week from today, and so many exciting things are planned for this season! I’ll send more news in the coming week, but before we can celebrate the kick-off of the market season, I want to send out a call for support:
Our farmer and board member Chris Wilson (of Clover Creek Farm/Green Eggs and Lamb) lost an entire 36×48 barn and suffered major damage to her outbuildings, fences, home and equipment in Wednesday night’s tornado & storm. All the humans, sheep and chickens are OK, but this is a big setback for Chris and her farm.
If anyone in our market community has time to give in the next days and weeks to help her clean up trash and debris around her property, even for a little while, all help is welcome. Chris’s farm is on Harmony Road just a few miles outside Jonesborough. You can reach Chris at 483-1170 to coordinate.
Today anyone with a cordless drill and sturdy boots could help remove metal screws and salvage barn lumber.
Please call me or send an email with any other ideas or suggestions for ways we can help out…perhaps a barn raising is in order!
