This is a collection of household wastes (not from businesses or institutions). Acceptable items include products from home activities such as: automotive and marine use, home maintenance and improvement, and lawn and garden maintenance. Other acceptable items include: pool and photo processing chemicals, aerosol cans and other compressed gases, mercury thermometers, fluorescent tubes and compact fluorescent bulbs (CFLs), and needles and sharps in a protective container.
Unacceptable items include: medical or biological waste, ammunition and explosives, smoke detectors or other radioactive waste, gas tanks, and paint (confer w/ the Solid Waste Dept.).
Unused or expired prescription medicines can be properly disposed at collections containers found in most law enforcement offices in our area.
Alkaline batteries can be put in your trash.
