April 15-19 Earth Week ETSU Dining Various dining locations, lunch time

Environmentally responsible food choices reducing food waste on certain days

April 15 Film: Kilowatt Ours DP Culp Center Forum Room, 7  pm

Electricity sources, practical steps to reduce energy use; panel discussion      free         open to public

April 17 Stomp Out the Styrofoam DP Culp Center Atrium, 12 - 2 pm

Help reduce styrofoam/plastics and push for alternative materials on campus

April 17 ETSU Bike Parade Borchuck Plaza, 3 pm

Ride for alternative transportation, use reusable materials to decorate bike, make catchy signage, parade: Borchuck Plaza - Yellow Bike Shed at Basler CPA

April 17 Film: The Island President Sam Wilson Hall Room 334, 7 pm

Doc of then-Maldives President's pursuit of climate change issue; live webinar; free; open to public

April 18 Sow True Seed Lecture DP Culp Center - 3rd floor room 311, 5:30 pm

importance of planting non-GMO seeds and gardening philosophy

April 18 Film: Climate of Doubt Rogers-Stout Hall Room 102, 7 pm

Doc re special interest group influence on public opinion on climate change   free  open to public

April 19-21 Outdoor Adventures: New River Canoe/Camping Trip  call Campus Recreation at 439-7980 or email outdooradventure@etsu.edu

 

April 21 Dash for the Trash Downtown Johnson City and ETSU campus, time TBA

Students team up, compete to collect most trash within time frame

April 22 ETSU Earth Day Festival Borchuck Plaza (Rain location: Cave Patio), 10 am - 2 pm

Join campus eco-groups around campus  environmental/sustainability issues - fun activities, music!

April 22 Campus Blackout Campus wide, ALL DAY

Unless absolutely necessary, keep the lights off! 

April 25 Mountain Justice Benefit Concert Galaxy Lounge in downtown Johnson City, 8 pm

Benefit Concert to end mountaintop removal   $3 fee

April 27 Outdoor Adventures: Buffalo Mountain Day Hike call Campus Recreation at 439-7980 or email outdooradventure@etsu.edu 

$5 fee

April 30 Eco-Hunt Campus wide, 10 am - 4 pm
