Event Description

An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power, will be shown on Thursday, March 15 at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church in Johnson City.

It is a follow-up to the film Inconvenient Truth which premiered 10 years ago.  It reports on the catastrophic environmental events that were predicted and have occurred.  The film provides a scenario for an optimistic future of God’s earth by showing positive developments throughout the world and suggesting practical actions that can reduce carbon emissions.  It is produced by Climate Reality and narrated by Al Gore.

Dr. Audrey Depelteau, Director of ETSU Innovation Laboratory and a graduate of Climate Reality’s Leadership Corps, will facilitate the presentation and subsequent discussion.

While the film was premiered in 2017, it has not been distributed to any theater in our market area.  Admission is free.  An opportunity for a voluntary contribution will be provided.

The viewing is being underwritten by The Green Team of the Southeastern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.  Supporters include:

Citizens Climate Lobby - Northeast Tennessee

Covenant Presbyterian Church

ETSU Department of Sustainability

Green Interfaith Network, Inc.

Indivisible Tri-Cities

Munsey United Methodist Church
