Event Description

You are invited to a special screening of From the Ashes, a documentary from the National Geographic Society and the Bloomberg Foundation.

Concerned about Climate Change? Distressed about current events? Strategize with us this Sunday, June 4 at 6PM!

Let's put our heads together to devise plans for our congregations, cities, counties and states that will offset the federal government's failure to address the climate crisis.

Interfaith Power & Light is working with National Geographic Films and Bloomberg Philanthropies on local solutions to this global problem. Sunday's screening will be the first for "From the Ashes" in our area.

Don't miss the opportunity to attend an advanced screening of From the Ashes Film, the groundbreaking new documentary produced by Radical Media in partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies. Presented by NatGeoTVUS, the film takes a compelling and often heartbreaking look at what’s at stake for our economy, health, and climate. Learn more about an industry on the edge and what it means for our future.

With its focus on the coalfields, this new documentary is especially relevant to us in Southern Appalachia.

Use the center doors of St. Mary's School, and go straight to the back of the school and the library is to the left. St. Mary's is at 2211 E. Lakeview Dr., Johnson City, TN. See you at 6pm.

PS: In consideration of the Ramadan fast, no refreshments will be served until after sundown when pizza will be delivered.
