Event Description

TN Interfaith Power & Light Webinar

"Principles of a Spiritual Response to Climate Change"

TN Interfaith Power and Light launches its first quarterly webinar series with a presentation on the "Principles of a Spiritual Response to Climate Change."  The hour-long TN IPL webinars are opportunities for leaders in the Tennessee faith community to directly engage with each other on climate change.

Dr. John Nolt, professor in the University of TN / Knoxville Department of Philosophy, will examine the core ethical principles that have guided the responses of faith communities to historic social issues and consider the application of these principles to the currently pressing issue of climate change.  The discussion will focus on how faith leaders can move people to come to grips with a problem so vast, distant and seemingly impersonal.  Dr. Nolt’s 30-minute presentation will be followed by an opportunity for questions and comments.

Clergy and lay leaders are invited to this webinar.  Participants will need to pre-register by emailing lgorenflo@gmail.com to receive Dr. Nolt’s presentation and call-in information ahead of the teleconference.  The teleconference is free to participants.
