Event Description

In January 2013, ETSU's Sherrod Library was honored to be awarded a grant, "Bridging Cultures Bookshelf: Muslim Journeys" which includes a collection of books, films, and other resources chosen to help familiarize the American public with Islam and the cultural heritage of Islamic civilizations around the world. It is intended to address both the need and the desire of the American public for trustworthy and accessible resources about Muslim beliefs and practices and the cultural heritage associated with Islamic civilizations.

As part of the grant the ETSU's Sherrod Library will sponsor programing to enlighten and stimulate public interest in Muslim culture and Islamic religion. "Prince Among Slaves" is the first film in the series of events, on Feb. 28th.
